Deportation Memorial Paris Reviews
Poignant peaceful quiet space in the centre of Paris Jul 17, 2011
Situated in a park tucked away on the same Island in the Seine as the Notre Dame this is worth the ten minutes it takes to quietly walk around the art space.
It would be a shame to describe too much of it in detail as you really need to see and experience it for yourself. However its worth knowing that visitors are asked to remain completely silent out of respect so in that respect it perhaps may no be appropriate to very little children, although as its in a park perhaps they could play while the adults make their visit?
There are also very steep steps so those with mobility limits may not find it easy to access.
The memorial is more poignant than harrowing and everyone who experienced it seemed to enjoy the quiet reflection and stillness of the space.
