Beautiful and worth staying for a couple of hours Jul 05, 2011
This is a fun place to meet a bunch of friends, bring a picnic (even wine!) and stroll around. They do an amazing job with the flowers/plants but make sure you give yourself plenty of time to meander through the gardens! This is also a great date idea as you can save some money by bringing your own meal, including wine.

Beautiful Gardens Apr 03, 2010
In my opinion Denver has great attractions, including a great zoo and museum. My favorite attraction however, is The Denver botanic Gardens. My mother and I take a trip to the Denver Botanic Gardens every summer to take photographs and enjoy all of the natural beauty. The gardens are really quite spectacular. Admission is reasonable, at $11, considering one can spend all day roaming the various gardens!

The Denver Botanic Gardens actually has a few different locations including one at Chatfield near the reservoir. The main location at York Street houses the widest and most diverse range of gardens. These gardens are a great illustration of the ever-widening diversity of flora and fauna from all over the world. Some of my favorite gardens are the distinctive and diverse high altitude plants showcasing Colorado's brilliant landscape!

In addition to the outdoor gardens, there is a great tropical plant collection in a steamy greenhouse. My favorite plant in here is the banana tree! The lit

There are a lot of great special events that the gardens host throughout the year, including a fantastic holiday light festival during the winter months. The summer is the time to go! At dusk the light is wonderful for pictures of the brilliant blooms and interesting plants. Sporadically, throughout the year, the city hosts free days. Though there are more people on free days, which can be somewhat annoying.

In my opinion, nothing beats spending a lazy summer day at the Denver Botanic Gardens.
