Lancaster, PA to Elsmere, DE
Took off for DE this morning thus completing the first leg of our trip. We will visit with family in both DE and NJ then take off for MI starting the next section of our summer journey. I do plan to go back and put in campground info and routes as we did not travel interstates at all and some of the two lane roads we took are worth a look see. Will add some more photos too. I don’t have WIFI here so need to do som...

Knowing that it helps me to stop and stretch my legs on any car ride over two hours, I opened my handy AAA TourBook and looked for an attraction along my route that was either free or cheap that could give me a 15-30 minute break. The Elsie Williams Doll Collection in the library of the Delaware Technical and Community College appeared to be a good choice.
The exhibit is in the library itself, I discovered (there were no signs but just look to your right once you enter the library).&nb...

For my 17th birthday I asked to go to Casablanca in Wilmington, Delaware. I have heard nothing but good things about this place and it was indeed nothing short of amazing! From the outside, one would think this restraint will be a complete disappointment, even I thought so. However, upon entrance you are immediately engulfed in traditional Moroccan scenery. Intricate, colorful rugs fill the walls and fabulous architecture supports the building. You are warmly greeted by native servers dressed...

I spent the better part of the afternoon of the 16th resting as I had just had my appendix removed on the 11th of Sept. I'll be a bit slow and can't pick up anything heavy on this trip but other than that I'm raring to go! As I was recuperating, Mark was out doing the shopping. We hadn't begun our transatlantic journey yet and we already needed an extra bag. Granted, we did have to purchase a set of sheets and two towels as the house we would be staying at in Cornwall came w...

From the time we got up too early in the morning in Delaware until the time we laid our heads on the pillow in Lannion, 36 hours had passed without the hint of a nap. But I digress to the highlights of our first full day en L'Hexagonne.
We arrived in Paris at 0747 on Sunday morning. I unfolded myself out of row 31 and wiggled the body parts which had gone numb from lack of movement for six and a half hours. All went well as we made our way along the trottoir roulant (the cu...

It started innocently enough; I visited Juneau, Alaska in June 1993 and explored the State Capitol building. A few months later, It was Montgomery, Alabama's. In the course of time, it became a hobby. Near the end it became a bit of an obsession. Then, in August of 2006, I visited my 50th US State Capitol building in Pierre, SD. (Yeh!)
Yes, I know, I'm a geography nerd....

The Chinese Pregnancy Calendar is based on legend, and has been used to predict whether an unborn child will be a boy or a girl.
According to legend, the Chinese pregnancy chart was buried in a royal tomb almost 900 years ago and was just recently discovered.
To use the Chinese pregnancy calendar, you will go down the column until you get to the age of the mother at the time of conception (it could be different if the mother has had a birthday since conceiving).
Then go across that r...

We had been hearing quite a few good comments from fellow shoppers about Scrapbooking & More, so we looked forward to this visit. When we pulled up (in yet another plaza), we were surprised by its size; after all the mention of how much it carried, we had expected something bigger. Once inside though we discovered that the store stretched back. Once again, the shelves and walls were filled with items, a lot of embellishments. The biggest find here were the sale ite...
