Delamere Forest is one of my favourite attractions in the north west. It constitures of a mixture of evergreen forest, open grassland and wetlands. It is the largest wooded area in Cheshire and lies within the Mersey Forest.

You can take Delamere as a family day out, there is a coffee shop to offer refreshments, cakes & ice creams! All reasonably priced.

There is a bike rental that offers a wide range of bikes, including tanjens & buggy bikes aand other various child safe bikes.

Throught Delamere are various bike paths, some more action than others. People are permitted to bring their own bikes if they would prefere and there is no charge.

Another activity to participate in at Delamere is "GO-APE" which i did this year for my brithday! Its basically swining from trees, climibing ladders etc and is a great family activity or a group activity. Price - not very expensive & cheap with large book blockings.

There are also horse riding excursions on various days & a golf course.

You can also find various sporting events being held in the forest such as bike races, time trials, strong man & woman plus race for life and more.

There are numberous species of wildlife to admire, photograph & enjoy!
