Feeling like veterans now, today started perfectly.  We departed the Mariam and retraced yesterday’s path to the Dead Sea through Mt. Nebo, no longer intimidated by the military checkpoint.  In no time we were at the Wadi Mujib Nature Reserve, a rather rustic collection of shacks at the…

For the record, I was not in any way involved with booking a stay at the 5 star hotel Ishtar at the Dead Sea.  There comes a time when you travel on someone else’s budget that you get “hooked up” as we youngin’s say.  All of the other lower end hotels were booked, so they said, an…

Leaving Aqaba, going 'down', the Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth, 415 metres below sea level. A shot dip in the sea, trying to swim, but happy to be floating ;-) Tried a mud scrub as well. Just fun. Driving back to Amman to spend a last evening in Jordan.
