DeWitt Place Apartment Chicago

We had planned a trip to Chicago and were looking for an affordable place to stay. By the time we vere rady to book, all the good hotel deals were long gone. It turned out that there was a big convention going on at the same time as we were going.

Well, on booking.com my friend found DeWitt Place, which rents out apartments. It was a great deal, so I said “book it!”.

DeWitt Place is located in a 1920s building and was easy to find. Location was brilliant, one block from Lake Michigan and two blocks from the shopping street, Michigan Ave. Check in was very efficient and the reception staff was very helpful, friendly and courteous. Throughout our stay they were always ready to help with whatever inquiries we had, that was everything from fixing our electronic safe in the room to restaurant suggestions.

The apartment was nice and modern, decorated in light colours, was super clean and had a fully equipped kitchen. We did not cook, but it was nice to have a fridge. The main room had a queen sized bed and a sleeper sofa, TV, telephone (with free local calls) and free WI-FI. The bathroom was nice and clean, but a little old. There were plenty of fluffy towels.

Maid service is optional and costs extra. There are iron and ironing board in the room and laundry facilities in the basement. Should the shopping marathon not give you enough exercise, then there is a gym with steam shower on the ground floor. And there is a small grocery store right across the street.

I can highly recommend DeWitt Place for both short and long term stays. The location is brilliant, the staff wonderful and the price great. I will definitely be back!
