Well located rock cafe with small all day menu and full restaurant in the evening Apr 23, 2009
This cafe is a normal cafe by day and rock cafe at night.
They have a large outdoor area which is perfect when the weather is good, and this is where I had coffee and lunch with Petra. De Zwarte Ruiter prides itself on their "latte art", and all the cappuccino's I had looked different. For lunch Petra had a (very large) wrap with smoked salmon and cream cheese which looked gorgeous. I opted for a warm waldkorn (very dark brown bread) breadroll with goat's cheese, honey and walnuts. Even though the lunch menu is not big there seems to be something for everyone and the food is very good and fresh and very well priced. One thing to remember: the staff does not come to you to take your order for drinks or food, you have to go in and order it yourself at the bar!
