De Vier Geboden

In the middle of the main touristical street in the centre of Zandvoort you will find a not so typical tourist restaurant, offering a menu which may be slightly more expensive than the surrounding locations, but with significantly higher quality.

The restaurant offers various dishes, including meat, fish, and one vegetarian dish. They follow a n international cuisine which is typical for Dutch restaurants. The wine menu has a limited but fine selection of wines which go very well with the dishes. We visited the restaurant with a group of 5 people in August 2009, and we all agreed that the food was excellent for the price, with fresh ingredients, and nicely arranged on the dish. Prices for the main dish ranges from 14 Euro to 24 Euro, which is a regular price in The Netherlands for quality food. You will find an updated menu on their website.

The service is very good, fast, friendly and well-organised; they clearly leave an impression of being aware on how to attract and keep customers.

The pricing for this restaurant is quite normal for restaurants in The Netherlands offering quality food; if going for a lower price, usually this usually includes a not so good product in terms of both food and service. The restaurant had many Dutch guests, which is not typically the case in a tourist restaurant and is always a good sign, and originally it had been recommended to us by the owners and a few guests of a pub around the corner, "De Harlekijn"

In short, I very much enjoyed the evening and if your budget allows it, I would highly recommend it if you are staying in Zandvoort.
