Great Place for Lunch in Delft Apr 27, 2008
When we finally made it to Delft we were hungry. It was about 1:30 and time for lunch. While walking towards the main market square we found this café which turned out to be a perfect place for lunch. We decided to sit outside on their outdoor terrace that has nice views of some beautiful buildings. And... if it happened to rain a little, we could always go inside or duck under the umbrellas on the terrace. The inside is nice too, with a large bar and a cozy dining area.
The food we tried was really great - a grilled sandwich with chorizo, tomato and mozzarella cheese served on a fresh roll with sun-dried tomato pesto. There are also lots of sandwiches, omelettes, soups and salads to choose from. Everything I saw looked great. I had a sandwich with carpaccio, parmesan cheese and different types of lettuce. It was great and really hit the spot! The waitresses were really nice and we enjoyed the sparkling iced tea they served us. Lunch for two was less than 20 Euros. It's also a wi-fi hot spot which can be useful too. A place to recommend - nice service, great ambience and super food! Part of the Holland travel blog |
