De Pere Vacation Guide

De Pere is a town of about 23,000 located on the Fox River and is a considered an affluent Southern suburb of Green Bay, in Brown County, Wisconsin.

Settled by French Jesuits in 1671 by the name of Claude Allouez, DePere began as a mission settled at the last rapids on the Fox River before entering the Green Bay. In the 1890's, Abbott Pennings a Norbertine Monk founded St. Norbert College which is still located on the Fox River and is attended by nearly 3,000 students.

Also residing here are a number of nationally headquartered businesses such as papermills, manufacturing facilities, and environmental equipment developers.
