Dutch ceramic from the Golden age to date Dec 06, 2008
A tour through the museum is not really expensive but very interesting if you appreciate fine art and ceramics. You will see painters at their work, and those wonderful blue tiles, so reminescent of Delftware even in the ladies toilets!!

A big surprise is in store with the "Nightwatchman" - painted in wall to wall tiles.

The English version of the tour appears to lack the substance of German and Dutch so be sure to ask questions for more information.

Delfts blue factory Feb 09, 2008
If you have Dutch immigrants in your country, they probably have Delfts blue. It is typically Dutch. The Royal Dutch Delftware Manufactory “De Porceleyne Fles” is established in 1653 and still working. I just walked around in the museum, factory and shop, but it is possible to get a guided tour. I know the process how Delfts blauw is produced, but if you don’t it would be a good idea to take a guided tour. You can see a painting demonstration. In the shop you can buy Delfts blue, but it is a bit expensive.

Volgens mij niet, afgelopen week ofzo stond wel in de krant dat de directeur is weggegaan, maar ze hebben al een vervanger.
