De Koepel Voorburg Reviews
Dec 13, 2007
In the former orangerie of country-house 'Vreugd en Rust' you will find brasserie DE KOEPEL built in the 18th century. It is the second restaurant of top-chef / proprietor Henk Savelberg.
It is slightly more hip than his other restaurant and a teeny bit less expensive. Still, the quality of the food (classic French oriented) is excellent, the staff very friendly and professional.
Ambiance is classic and nice, though due to the height of the ceiling as well as the round shape of the restaurant, it can feel a little chilly or clinical. This is well compensated by the warmth and hospitality of the staff and once they bring the food, you only have eye for your plate and the artwork on it.
The restaurant is situated in a nice park yet also accessible for people in wheelchairs. It is not a any-day-of-the-midweek kinda place but, in weekends or on special occasions well worth a visit and the cash drain from your wallet.
