Venice in Amsterdam May 18, 2010
I never knew that Amsterdam could look like Venice, but sitting at the terrace of De haven of Texel (The harbour of Texel) you will wonder which city you are, Amsterdam or Venice. The terrace is situated next to a crossing of canals and on the left there is a lock. So lots to see: little boats are constantly passing by and the houses bordering on the canal actually rise from the water, just like the ones in Venice. Very non-dutch and very relaxing!

The food is not very special, but eatable (especially the chicken saté), so do visit this place between 16 pm - 19 pm, grab a drink at the terrace and if the sky stays clear and sunny, do stay around for dinner!

(Tea: EUR 2,25, Chicken saté: EUR 12,50)
