De Borrel-Babbel Mechelen Reviews
De Borrel-Babbel - the smallest bar in Mechelen Jun 13, 2009
Just behind the cathedral and in its shadow in a tiny corner of Nieuwkerk you will find De Borrel-Babbel. The square where it is situated is enormously cosy and it attracts loads of people either walking by or looking for a space in the sun.
The De Borrel-Babbel is known as the smallest bar in Mechelen and it is a really great tiny little pub with a warm and cosy interior. The size is so small that the bar seems packed already with 5 visitors but I guess that it is possible to fit 20 people inside but the at least 3 people will not be able to touch the ground.
Inside you find an interior mixed with wood, bricks which give it an authentic ancient look and you can’t miss the beautiful iron staircase in the corner leading up to the toilets.
The bar has a fairly good selection of drinks and you can also find some of the finest Mechelen beers her like the Gouden Carolus.
