Daytrip to St. Gilgen Feb 18, 2017
On a hot summerday Salzburg can be quite tiring with all the tourists.

St. Gilgen is on the western end of the Wolfgangsee (lake9. After having a Boat Line on the Wolfgangsee (1873) and especially after the establishment of the Salzkammergut Railway (1893), the previously insignificant village took a strong tourist boom. On a nice summerday it is a very nice bus ride past the Gaisberg and the Fuschlsee.

Next to the bus stop is a cable car up the Zwölferhorn, great view over the lake, in winter also skiing.

From Salzburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station) with the frequent bus 150, 1.5 hours, € 6,60 each way
