I am a vegetarian! It is always challenging to find ...something I WANT to eat. David Bann is one only a few restaurants that I've ever been to that has the answer to limited, boring, bland, vegetarian offering.
The decor is simple in minimalistic. It's the food that will bring color to your experience. The staff is friendly and seem excited to offer you their tasty treats. My starter was: Mushroom and curd tortellini. Homemade pasta filled with mushroom and our own organic cheese curd served with grated beetroot soup. My entre was: Beetroot, spinach and Dunsyre Blue timbale. A light soufflé of layered spinach with nutmeg, beetroot and Dunsyre Blue cheese served with grilled olive and basil polenta and buttered green beans. Accompanied by homemade tomato chutney. I had to have dessert so, I had: Hot peach and passion fruit tart. Made to order with a delicate sweet shortcake pastry and served with homemade chocolate ice cream. OMG! Everything was so fantastic. Every offering is ingenious and a masterpiece. I will return to Scotland just to eat here, again. Oh, did I mention that I reccomend this restaruant...haha Part of the Halloween Weekend in Edinburgh, Scotland travel blog |
