There's an English pub on Sukhbaatar square in Ulaan Baatar, called Dave's Place. It's a little tucked away, in the basement down the side of a large public building (the theater or something), on the eastern side of the square.

We had a great night there. They were showing a live England football match. The place was packed out with expats and tourists, so not the place to go for an authentic Mongolian experience, obviously. But they have the right drinks available, and I joined in a game of darts. Just like a real home from home.

This place must have changed a lot since you were there. I lived in Ulaanbaatar between 2006 - 2008 and have been back recently. Dave's Place in Ulaanbaatar, was a den for expats chasing young girls. I would advise any tourist to avoid the place. There are some much nicer and more reasonably priced restaurants in UB with much better service. Emerald Bay offered great sea food which was flown in weekly. The Veranda offers very nice food, as do several other locations all in the city center.
