I stayed at The Davenport in 2005. This is a historically significant hotel in Spokane, which you can read about on the website if you choose.
For many years the hotel fell into neglect, but in 2000 some local entrepreneurs sank $38 million into renovating the place. (I know this may not sound like a lot to those of you on the coasts or in the hotel biz...but we're talking about Spokane here. The Davenport was re-established in 2002, and (in my opinion) is the nicest hotel in Spokane. The woodwork and detail in the building is extremely impressive. I was actually surprised the rooms weren't more expensive. (starting ~$200/night). There are a lot of cheaper hotels in Spokane, but if you looking to stay at a nice place The Davenport is right downtown, the service is great, and the interior of the building itself is worth seeing.
