Dar Al Batoul Rabat Reviews
Hidden gem Apr 04, 2009
While in Morocco avoid the big hotel chains, but go for the original riads. They are most times located in old local houses, which sometimes can be described as small palaces.
And this is what Dar al Batoul looks like. The hotel is hidden behind a wall in a small side street of boulevard el Alou and is easily overseen. A brick board however gives away its presence.
The hotel has a beautiful patio and the rooms are arranged around it. At the peaceful patio a simple breakfast is served.
The courtyard, hall and passages are richly decorated with tilework. While passing some stairways and corridors to our room at the top floor, we could admire all the coloured tyles.
The room is entered by two doors with coloured leaded windows. The furniture has an oriental style. Are we in the 1001 nights fairy tale?
Tea is ready in a Moroccon pot accompanied by some fruits. The bed is a romantic four/poster and the bath room offers a refreshing bath.
This is a perfect way to start your trip in Morocco!
