Danny Minnies Travel Reviews
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A luxurious treat Apr 01, 2008
The O’Donnell family has run Danny Minnie’s since 1962, and a visit is always a special treat. There’s nothing about the exterior as seen from the road to prepare first-time visitors for the atmosphere of this remarkable restaurant: hidden behind a frontage of overgrown creepers a surprise awaits when guests are suddenly surrounded by antiques and elegantly appointed candle-lit tables. The menu is presented in both Irish and English, and Brian O’Donnell’s cooking is a good match for the surroundings.
They specialise in fish and seafood, their famous seafood platter is really something to behold and would feed two people easily. The place has a reputation for being on the expensive side, ana so allow €40 per head for 2/3 courses. But if you are measuring quality then for that special treat I think its money well spent.
Little would you guess the treat...
