Clean. Cold. Friendly. Jackie thought it was cute. (no accounting for taste) From what we saw, the other hotels in the village are pretty much the same.

The rooms are simple, but the bathrooms are huge and appear recently renovated. The water is hot - which is necessary since the rooms are cold! There is a rickety old heater/air conditioning unit in the wall which took hours to heat up the room, and a space heater on the floor, which only warmed the immediate area. We slept in our clothes, although by the time we woke up, the room was warm. :-)

$64 for a double room, including breakfast. There is a 10% discount for reserving online, no advance payment required. Payment is in cash only.

The dinner was a set menu - filling and good, not included. The dining area is unheated.

Taxis arranged through the hotel are extremely high - try to go local.

The hotel gift shop sells additional clothing for people who are unprepared for the cold, but it hasn't been dusted in centuries, so everything (postcards, souvenirs, clothing) is coated in inches of dust.
