Dana Point is a city in Orange county, California, popular for its nice coastline and harbor. It is a nice weekend getaway place to relax. It was named after Richard Henry Dana Jr. (1815-1882), a Harvard-trained lawyer, seaman, and author of the classic sea journal, Two Years Before the Mast (1840). Dana Point was originally called Bahia de San Juan Capistrano (Capistrano Bay). In his sea journal, Richard Dana Jr. described Capistrano Bay as "the most romantic spot on the California coast."

Singapore -› Narita, Japan -› ...
Isn't it amazing to think that I left Singapore on August 30th at 6am local time, arrived in Los Angeles at 11am local time on the same day, and was at Orange County, CA by 3pm that same day? Seemed like I didn't travel 6,000 miles across the globe. :)

Byron took me to Dana Point Harbor to see the collection of boats and visit the little shops at the harbor. It was very interesting how crowded it was at the harbor where the boats are anchored. Byron told me it costs a fortune to live on the boats due to high rental on water space. It was busy being a Saturday but we did not take too long here, we needed breakfast/lunch (branch maybe?). Well I was in the mood for Italian, but the one Italian restaurant by the Harbor was closed in preparation...

This was the last day of events (at least for us, I don't know what else the bride and groom had planned for thier family and closer friends) for Sheetal and Nidhi's wedding. The morning was hectic.

I've been traveling to so many different places around the US lately that I decided to keep this blog for two reasons; give my friends, and others, an opportunity to learn about the places I've been traveling to, and since my wife can never remember where I am going each week, she can just check this out and get an instant answer. No more, "babe, where are you this week?"! Sweet!
