Dalyan is a small town in the turkish province of Mugla. It is situated on the Dalyan river, which opens into a wide delta into the mediterranean sea. To get to the beach from Dalyan you can go by boat or you can go by bus to another beach, Iztuzu.
Also only minutes by boat is the lake Köycegiz where many tourists go by boat on a day trip. All the water around town makes it very peaceful, although there is also a lively night life with several pubs. Once a week there is a basar where you can buy just about anything. Fake brand articles are very popular but also the famous and delicious turkish tea is offered. For culture-interested tourists there is the city of Kaunos, which is an antique town and can also be reached by boat.

It was a large boat and we had it all to ourselves for the morning (for 100YTL). Our captain Hasan didn’t speak English, which proved to be difficult over the course of the morning, but we had an INCREDIBLE day watching turtles nonetheless. The light was gaining strength as we boated slowly inland on the river. We kept our eyes peeled fo...

We set sail to a quiet spot around the cliffs from Turtle Beach meanwhile the only member of the group who had diving experience, Mark, was set down in the water with an instructor on the way to our dive site. Upon reaching our destination we were given a safety talk by a...

In 2002 we travelt through Turkey, with a dutch travelcompagnie KRAS. We have seen a lot of the old Turkey places and ruïns. We where that time on a organized travel. It was a disappointment because a lot of schedule trips, but what we have seen that where beautiful. It is a nice country with nice people The next travels we have done are by backpack.
