My friend, my brother and I decided to spend a Saturday afternoon at the Dallas World Aquarium. I don't really know why it's called an aquarium when there's a jaguar and lots of birds as part of the exhibit, but I'm not the one who named the place. There was a 3-toed sloth just hanging out in a tree, which was neat to see. I believe we were told that it's the only one "on display" in the US, but I'm not so sure now. Whatever your fancy, you can probably find something …

I keep saying my trip begins in June, when in reality it began the day I packed my car and left home sweet home Seattle. I was amazingly still sane after 3 days and 2,000 miles alone in the car. I'm not saying I didn't talk to myself every once in awhile. That's a given. But I actually enjoyed my solo trek through Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and South Dakota. I ventured off the path to see the Badlands, Wall Drug (a small town drug store with more highway signs than products on the sh…

We tried to get as much in as possible for the few hours we were there. A few of the things we got to experience included:
THE COTTON BOWL ACTION: With a seating capacity of 91,000, the Cotton Bowl is home to three games during the 2008 Fair. On October 4, the Grambling State Tigers take on the Panthers of Prairie View A&M in the State Fair Classic. The Red River Rivalry kicked off on Oct. 11 in a match up between Oklahoma and Texas. On the eve of the Fair's clos…

I woke up this morning at 4:00a.m...I was hoping it would be good-health that would cause me to wake so early, that and excitement about my departure for Prague that was supposed to be today. But no. Rather it was excruciating pain in my throat, back, head, legs....oh, pretty much everywhere...except my nose, it wasnt too bad actually.Anyway, I made the executive decision this morning that there was no way I was leaving town today. Instead, I drove to a local clinic and got checked out. Strep…

This isn't really a travel blog, but I want to encourage everyone to invite more people to join TravBuddy. We're just over 100,000 members away from 1 million! So let's help Eric and David (the founders) get TravBuddy.com to that goal.

If you’ve ever gotten “antsy” on a five hour flight across the USA, what in the world do you do to pass the time on a fourteen hour flight?
I managed to eat two complete meals (lunch and dinner) as well as a snack in between; drink three bottles of water, one cocktail, two glasses of wine, one cup of orange juice, three glasses of water, two cups of green tea, one cup of coffee; climb over the fellow seated on the aisle in order to visit the lavatory five times; watch three mov…

The fine art galleries, shops, restaurants and entertainment,
are all ideally positioned in the heart of lively Uptown Dallas. Nearby
in the West End Historic District, you’ll find even more shops and
restaurants, and the Dallas Arts District, with museums and performance
centers are all only minutes away from each other. I will just a brief
blurb about each place and then will write some reviews later. Don't
let all these possibilities overwhelm you because you can always
come …

When the train arrives in Longview, TX, it begins its Westward route through Dallas and Fort Worth. The train station in Dallas is very close to Dealey Plaza where JFK was assasinated. Here is a photo from the train of the area and the Texas School Book Depository on the left side. My theory? The second shooter wasn't on the grassy knoll, he was on the 3:15 train leaving town!A bumpy ride to Fort Worth and then it's dinner time again.

I mentioned earlier that Dallas had been near the top of my cities to visit list for a long time for exactly one reason, and it's not because I'm a Cowboys fan (although I am). I am a JFK assassination NERD. It started in high school, though I'm not exactly sure how. I was completely obsessed with it for a long time. Lee Harvey Oswald, Jack Ruby, Jim Garrison, the Warren Commission... what a cast of characters! I've read every book ever written on the subject. It was more than a decade ago th…

We arrive in Dallas at midnight. We drove about 30 hours to get there, flying at over 100 mph. Ironically, we didn't get pulled over by the police until I parked my car. We had to pick up a friend at a motel, and I parked the Hyundai on the curb. As I was standing around, two cop cars surround us, and the officers begin interrogating us. Luckily, they just tell us to scram, even though I had no idea what we were doing wrong. But I guess in Texas, we do look pretty suspicious. We meet up with …

What a great time with Fankai. I was pretty excited about spending the day in Dallas with a TB from a different state. Fankai was in Dallas taking the bar and we decided that we take his last day in town to explore Dallas and get to know more about each other.
It was a great day that started around noon when meet at his hotel and head to lunch up in Las Colinas. We had a great Thai meal at a restaurant called Blu Ginger. We had a good meal in pretty hip little restaurant. We spent mo…

Alive 2008
Day 1
I love my job and the work involved, but there are times when you just have to get away and refresh yourself. I am hoping that this weekend will give me something back to refresh me. I am attending a weekend devoted to singles in the church. The beauty of it is that it is for us older singles. I didn’t realize how many of us are out there. I know there are a lot of singles, but in the church, we are sometimes the forgotten group.
Last night started of so great.…

Well, this is the end of my long journey. It was the best trip, probably because it was my longest trip i have ever taken. If you made it through my journal, i would be surprised, but thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed some of the tips and hints, and some of the adventure, but mostly boring restaurant and hostel reviews. I will be happy to answer any questions or hear about your experiences in the places this blog covers, cheers.

And I arrived to Dallas,
the flight was ok and I had just the exact time to catch my flight. We landed,
but what’s going on? The captain asked to be patient, but our gate wasn’t
available and we should wait until the plain there departures. OMG!!! And I
have to catch a flight to Miami…
I called the flight attendant and asked her how long it would take. She was
very nice and explained me in a really polite way that she had no idea!!! I
just had to wait, mmm. The man next to me not…
