Bloom in Dallas Mar 19, 2011
This place is beautiful with the vast areas of gardens, trees, and fountains. Nice venue to visit and let the mind relax as you gaze through the arboretum and enjoy the view overlooking White Rock Lake. I met up with my travbuddy friend Yves to enjoy the Dallas Blooms Festival. This was a great time of so many blooms and so much art.

Although they have a guided tram tour, I recommend walking around the park. This is a great way to look at everything without the restrictions of just seeing all the little nooks and crannies. There is new construction going on which promises to add even more experiences to a visit.

A visit with a tour of the DeGolyer home is also a must if visiting for the first time. During a hot day it's a good way to cool off mid way through seeing the gardens and the tour guide gives you a better understanding of how the whole park came about.

There are a variety of places to eat within the park or you can bring your own meal. It is really a good time with so many things to see, smell and experience. Do bring your camera and enjoy

Truly, a gem in Dallas and would definitely go back.

Beautiful Gardens Apr 16, 2011
The Dallas Arboretum is a quiet, peaceful place to visit during the week. There is an annual butterfly release and the gardens in spring are just gorgeous. Take a book and sit peacefully reading for hours on end, or just visit the gardens to see all the flowers.
