Though my city map from the hotel was in Vietnamese, I recognized the small sketch of a familiar church. The Cathedral of Dalat was a prominent landmark in 1970 when I snapped a picture of it as we flew an approach to the airfield one day. My Army maintenance team descended int…

People i met here, who contributed to and improved my trip: Juliana (Russia)
We arrived into Dalat on Wednesday afternoon and had a quick look around the city and booked a tour for the following day. For some reason, the town seemed devoid of budget eateries and when we did find a half cheap place…

Even if you spend all day walking like I did the previous day, you still don't get to see much that Dalat and the surrounding countryside has to offer; everything is pretty well spread out. So it's recommended that you hire a mode of transport, usually with a guide, to get to the more far-out sight…

So yesterday, although I hadn’t intended to do so, I threw in the towel (thankfully) and decided to hook up today with on the many Easy Riders that sought my attention and business on the streets of Dalat yesterday. The Easy Riders are now quite a long established group of biker lads who’…

We started our second day in Dalat by going the the Chicken Village. This village doesn't get its name from the number of chickens there but from the 2 story chicken statue that sits in the middle of town. This village is inhabited by one of the hill tribes in Vietnam. We did a little walking an…

Big breakfast at the hotel this morning; all the hotel guests sat round a table set with plates of fruit, bread rolls with peanut butter, strawberry jam and, guess what? Marmite. Thank the lord. At 9am we met our motorcycle guides outside and set off on a whirlwind tour of all the best bits of Dala…

This is my Bog Blog!
Call them whatever you like:
dunnies, pissers, gravy bowls, pissoirs, porcelain caves, potties, loos, crappers, dumpers, shitters, outhouses, throne, bogs, longdrops, WC's.
As much as we dont want to think about it, even good looking girls have to crap every day!
The vast array of toilets in the world have fascinated me for a long time.
This blog will be continuously updated as long as I continue to travel the world and wake up needing to hang a dump.

Its hard to put into words my feelings about Vietnam. I leave with mixed emotions about a country with a rich heritage and tremendous potential. I had some truly amazing experiences, but my lasting impressions will be of a people that put money above all else... (ie China)
In order to get a real feel for Vietnam, you MUST get off the Lonely Planet path. Its a watered-down experience to be honest. You're treated like a walking wallet. Get away from that scene and you'll see Vietnam...
