Dailey's Restaurant is in the heart of downtown Atlanta and offers a daily chalk board menu featuring steaks, seafood, and even duck and lamb dishes. The restaurant is located upstairs in one large room attractively decked out with dark wood and brick and featuring a carousel horse in the center of the room. One side that looks like an old fashion bar is actually where the desserts are prepared and displayed. Patrons are encouraged to walk up to the bar to peruse the available desserts, which are offered in large portions. Downstairs is a cigar and martini bar that offers live music. It's a happening scene that's a great spot to grab a drink. But the noise does spill upstairs, so it's a not great place if you are looking for a quiet meal. The stairway between the two levels is nicely decorated to look like an outdoor alleyway that reminds me of parts of New Orleans. The wait staff offers excellent, attentive service, and they know the chalk board offerings by heart. They have a quality wine list. I ordered crispy duck, which was a generous portion, but was fairly dry and not all that flavorful other than the skin. Six of us ordered pecan pie with ice cream (how can you not in Georgia?). The dessert was much better than the entree. All in all, Dailey's wouldn't be my first choice for the food, but it's a good place to entertain a large group and be entertained downstairs.
