Traditional Korean Restaurant: Dae Chung Ma Ru, Insadong Oct 19, 2013
A good place for traditional Korean barbecue. This restaurant provides grade A Korean beef with quality marbling. We had one portion of grade A Korean beef and another portion of Australian beef with nice marbling. Two portions of beef cost around RM 300 which is about KRW 97,500.

Korean cattle (Bos taurus coreanea) for production of the famous Hanwoo beef is a hybrid derived from cross-breeding between Bos taurus and Bos indicus. Koreans treasure Hanwoo beef despite the fact that is pricier compared to imported beef. Hanwoo beef is regarded as premium beef due to its high palatibility and desired chewiness. The best Hanwoo beef comes from Heongseong county.

Side dishes provided were complimentary to barbecue. Love the grilled pumpkin side dish. Perilla leaves, sesame leaves and lettuces were provided for wraps and they enhance the existing natural flavors of the beef.

Services provided was fine. Great ventilation system despite using charcoal to heat the iron plate for barbecue. One has to remove shoes before entering the restaurant.
