DV8 - Melbourne - Nightlife & Entertainment Reviews

On a Saturday night head to DV8!! A metal/alternative club right in Melbourne's CBD.

The ground floor plays metal type music, heavy stuff with lots of yelling - it tends to get more commercial towards the end of the night.
The first floor plays 80's and 90's New Wave pop type music (think The Cure, The Smiths, madonna, B52 etc) - This is usually where we spend most of our time dancing till 4am.
There is a room on the 2nd floor where live acts sometimes play although this room is not always open.

You will meet all kinds of interesting people at DV8, goths, punks, metalheads and many other types. It is a very unpretentious atmosphere which is what I love most about this place!! Everyone is very tolerant and non judgemental towards each other which can be a refreshing experience in a night club. Once I went to DV8 dressed as a pirate (after a dress up party) and didn't get strange looks!!!

There is also a quiet and dark room with couches and a movie playing to chill out in or to have a rest when you feet get sore from dancing.

Don't bother arriving until around 1 am. There is a $10 door charge.
