If it's not too hot, downtown Dallas isn't to bad to wander around Jul 03, 2011
From our hotel, we asked what we could punch into our GPS to find a good spot downtown. The woman at the front desk recommended Dealey Plaza. We pulled right into downtown DC right at Dealey Plaza.

We drove around a bit and then parked the car for 2 hours. We wandered to the JFK Memorial for a few minutes and although we were easily in walking distance of the Old Red Museum and the Sixth Floor Museum (where the man who shot JFK was aiming for him out the window), we didn't have the time. We found the Visitor's Center in the Old Red Museum on the way out of town (we didn't see any signs until we were walking back to the car).

We found a souvenir store, but stuff in there was sooo expensive and it was easier for us to find a Walmart on the way out of town with more affordable knick knacks. We wandered into the West End area with all it's little restaurants all bunched up in one area. We walked past the Heart Attack Grill in awe and went to RJ Mexican Cuisine for a stylish and affordable lunch! If the weather is not too hot, downtown Dallas is fine to walk around, but you should have an idea of where you want to go.
