Said to be one of the oldest medieval towns in the world this a place that came as a last minute addition to my backpacking trip around Europe and turned out to be my favorite destination.  I suddenly got to know about the place because I was watching lonely planet (I think its called Globe Trekker now) and was intrigued immediately.Getting there was hard as I dont speak a word of German or Czech.  Sign language was pretty much the key to getting around Czech.  I was coming fro…

My very first trip to Europe took me to France, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary (sorry... no pictures from Hungary!). There is not much to say about Europe since it is a very well knowm continent by many worldwide travellers..... but Slovakia turned out to be a wonderful place with its unique countryside and carphatian mountains scenery. Prague is undoubtedely the MOST beautiful city I ever seen with such wonderful preserved architecture.

Germany June 2008

This was my first time outside of the United States and I had a blast. Visited Germany, Austria, Amsterdam, & Czech. Met a few characters on the way: Simon, a funloving and charismatic young man from Australia, some smelly Spaniards that stayed at our hostel in Salsburg, and an Austrian (Wrong place to be when you're rooting for Germany to win soccer.) hahaha. Had an awesome experience in the Ice Caves and visiting cathedrals. Took lots of pictures and enjoyed a healthy 2 weeks of vacation.

Eeeek!!! No other country on our bus trip so far has had border control, so it was an experience getting into the Czech Republic!  We were told to take our sunnies and hats off, and look as respectable as we could, as the guards were coming on board our bus. They took all 36 of our passports (but not EU ones) and dissappeared - apparently this is normal and can take up to 3 hours for the documents to be returned. Not where I come from!!!!  We were lucky and were on the road aga…

Hello, just sending an update of my travels so far.  In my last email I announced that I graduated from the YWAM DTS. Also that my friend, Donna and I would travel to Landstuhl to visit soldiers on Good Friday. Thanks for your prayers as we were given access to the hospital. We met a local german couple who supports the soldiers and also a local military officer who escorted us around the base.  I was amazing by the Fischer House. We met several fa…

After arriving in Prague, and taking a guess at which ‘Praha’ station to get off at (there were three), we arrived in the Czech Republic. We must have looked quite funny, as we followed the crowd of people getting off to the exit of the train stations, and then as everyone else dispersed, we stood there wondering what to do. Ruth even said ‘are we in Prague?’. So we weren’t too organised. In fact, though we did have directions to our hostel, we didn’t have the address, and the dir…
