Cypress Lakes Resort Pokolbin Reviews
Average Quality for Expensive Price Mar 16, 2008
I had stayed at this hotel a some years back and just had an awesome time, so this year when I wanted to take the BF away for a weekend together, I instantly thought of this hotel and what an experience I had the previous time. Maybe I had set expectations already? Or maybe it was the fact that nothing had been done to the hotel to keep it looking good....
Yes the gardens and the general upkeep were all maintained, but the villa's are in need for a re-fresh. What was there 5 years ago was still there now! We had stayed in the One Bedroom Spa Villa for the one night and it cost approx AUD$450 for the night including brekkie the next day. And after this last stay, I know I wont be going back any time soon. It was a waste of money in my opinion. For the first timer, yes you'll enjoy it, but for someone who wants luxury, I would look elsewhere. The property is spread over many acres and you need to drive from your villa to reception, of course this isnt a problem at all! It was great to have the privacy, and only those people staying in the nearby villa's will drive by. The room was clean, except for a few hairs left over in the bathroom, and that the room was very stuffy. After having the aircon on for a few hours, it finally felt comfy. We really enjoyed the spa, however please note that spa is for 1 person and not 2! The room decor looked a bit tired, the bed was comfy enough after we got out the extra pillows. Overall, the stay was pleasant (although breakfast was mediocre) and would stay here again only if going with a group of friends or if there were some cheap deals going. |
