Curug Orok Garut Reviews
A perfect place for camping out! Mar 27, 2010
Curug is Sundanese word for Waterfall and Orok is Baby – and what’s the link in between those 2?
The local story said that in 1968 there was a woman seen throwing a baby from top of this waterfall, hence the name comes from and also this waterfall has 1 main waterfall which represent the mother and a small one of the side represent the baby.
The height of this waterfall is 45m and located at the feet of Papandayan Mountain on the level of approximately 250m above sea.
This waterfall is located 31km from Garut town as the capital of Garut regency and since 1996 is open for public and mainly known by local tourists for a seeight seeing or hiking trip.
The facility around this area is not so complete but decent – such as some food stalls, souvenirs stall (for those who really HAD to buy something), some public toilet – The only thing I can think of is it would make a perfect location for a camp out!!!
