Curtains Up (Baron's court Theatre) Reviews
Aug 03, 2006Oh, hello! I have been there already and though I cannot say that I was full of impressions I will surelly go there again. In September they stage The Seagull play, it is a comedy. I have seen it in Germany and in Russia in those languages and want to see now in London, in English and with English actors. For your information : the author of the play is Anton Chekhov, Russian famous writer, none of his novels is bad! The show starts on 12th September 2006 and is on until 17th September 2006. |

This little pub theatre is not in any obvious tourist spot, but still worth travelling for. It's a tiny stage in the cellar of an ordinary english pub, of the more modern kind. The shows I've seen there has all been good intimate (it only seats <40) performances, discussing basic things that happens in everyday life, but interesting and well acted. After the show you can discuss it in the nice pub upstairs, drinking pints of lager. I think it's great value, the price is £8-12, the cost of a cinema ticket, and definetley much more memorable. The shows runs for 2-3 weeks at the time, 8pm mon-sat., you probably don't have to book, just show up 15 min before the show.
A great and unique alternative to the West End Shows...! |
