Dolphin Academy in the Sea Aquarium Aug 22, 2009
We have visited the Sea Aquarium for one day and also made a swim with the dolphins. There are many animals living in the Sea Aquarium, such as sharks, pelicans, flamingo's, turtles, many sort of fishes, rays, starfishes, hedgehogs, sea lions and of course dolphins.
There is a show with dolphins, and you can see how they feed the sharks and other fishes and lobsters. The dolphin swim was great. We were in a group with 5 people en 4 dolphins. It were two mothers and their children. You can do many practises with them, such as they kiss you, make noises, and go around in the water, and give you a hand. You will be pulled forward by two of the dolphins by holding their fins, that goes very fast. It was a day that we never will forget! We have ordered the DVD en the photos from the swim with the dolphins. |

Tourist Trap to Avoid Aug 06, 2008
If you ever go to Curacao, you'll probably hear about going to the sea aquarium. It sounds like a cool place to go, being an aqaurium on the beach. However, it's not. My husband and I went here, despite some not so great reviews. We were incredibly disappointed. First of all, it's expensive. Second of all, it's small. You can walk around the whole place in about 5 minutes. Some of the animals they said they have, you cannot find. There are various "shows" you can watch, but it's nothing more than watching an employee feed the animals. Everything I saw there was something I could see while snorkeling. The only part that I did enjoy was the glass bottom boat. No, the boat doesn't tour around the water, like it should, it just sits there...but it was still better to watch the animals swim around in the ocean than in their tiny aqauriums. Plus I got some neat pictures.
Basically, avoid this place at all costs. It's expensive, it's incredibly crowded, and it's a huge let down. Part of the Underwater Photography travel blog |

While visiting Curacao, we went to the sea aquarium (which sucks by the way...don't bother going...read my review). The aquarium was not what you would expect for a sea life habitat by the ocean. It was small, crowded, and expensive. I didn… Curacao Sea Aquarium |
