Cuevas del Drach Porto Cristo Reviews
Mallorca´s best kept treasure Jun 06, 2008
They are located on Mallorca´s east coast and are without no doubt one of the Island´s most outstandig tourists attraction.
Cave tours are in groups and take around one hour. The temperature inside is 20 degrees celsius with humidity at 80%.
Be sure to bring a sweater, because it can be chilly.
The route is 1200 metres long and up and down, in total, there are some 250 steps.
Watch out and be careful, it can be slippery. Sensible footwear is recommended.
Hidden within the cave is Lake Martel. It´s considered to be one of the largest subterranean lakes in the world (177 metres long and 230 metres wide) on which there are daily performances of classical music.
Sitting there in total darkness and suddently you get a glint from lighted boats sailing on the lake, while classic music is playing. That make you feel overwhelmed. Tears will be filled in your eyes. The concert is live, played by a quartet of two violins, cello and harmonium. It lasts for 10 minutes. This is such an unforgettable experience.
