A Window in the sky Jul 13, 2015
My Puerto Rican friend showed me photos of this place and I knew I need to visit. What it is, is a trail followed by two caves. At the end of the second cave is a giant "window" with spectacular views of the valley below, the photos of this place do zero justice.

So what you do to visit the Cueva Ventana is drive up a road (check their website) and there is a visitor booth off the side of the road next to a puma gas station. From there you get to pay $15 for the privilage of entering the cave, and you get a tour guide in either english or spanish. While waiting for the tour to start walk around and you might find some neat wild life.

So once you get going you get a hard hat, and head to the cave. After a 5 - 10 minute walk they take you to the first cave which has some petroglyphs.... and a start warning of no photos, and don't open your mouth, or you might get bat shit in your mouth!

After the first cave you head to the second one, where you climb down some rocks, get a flash light, and walk to the end of the cave... then you squeeze through a small oppening and get to the window, which is probably 40 feet wide, and about 1000 feet down to the ground, truely a spectacular site to see!

The good: Great views, fun hike to the cave.

The bad: Kind of expensive for something that takes about an hour.

The ugly: On the weekends I hear the place gets crazy crowded so go on a weekday
