Cuernavaca Overview

Cuernavaca is the capital of the State of Morelos, one of the smallest states of Mexico. It has the well known name of 'the City of the Eternal Spring'.

The city name of Cuernavaca is from the Aztecan family word 'Cuauhnáhuac', which translated means 'near the trees'.

The climate is warm sunny days and cooler nights. Many micro weather environments can be found which makes for differences in temperatures between the high northern parts of the city and the southern lower more tropically parts.

Only about 45 minutes from Mexico City, it has been a favorite vacation spot for hundreds of years with the people form the city.

Located in a small state, Cuernavaca is an archaeological treasure, with ruins and haciendas, beautiful scenery and many nearby interesting side trips.

Some places of interest to locals and tourist alike are: The Borda Gardens, Catedral de la Asuncion, Art from Diego Rivera, Hacienda de Cortes, Town Square (Zócalo) and the Municipal Market.
