Cube Nassfeld Hotel Hermagor

This hotel is a modern and functional hotel. It's like a crossing between a hostel and a hotel.

The ski slopes end in front of the hotel. Also, the elevator is at the hotel.
You can leave your ski material on untill you're in your room. Every room has a "box" where you can dry your own stuff at night.
It's not a hotel that wants to be cosy and comfortable, but it's practical.

I was in this hotel twice. I just loved to stay here. I was there with Belgian television for the "Samsung TMF Totally Snow" holiday.
The hotel was in those weeks full of Flemish youngsters. As the pictures show, Cube hotel is an excellent location for such event.

Below the hotel is there a nice club, where there are great parties. Also there are games inside, couches to chill on, a relax area with sauna etc.

Outside this party week event, I can't tell you the atmosphere, but I do know I loved my stays there!

The ski area is also great. It has many slopes and a snow park. There's also the opportunity to do 'snow games'.

The Cube Club hotel is ideal for young families, young people and people who are looking for a practical and basic stay.

OK, I'll be honest - I hated this hotel! Well I hated my room. The whole place feels like some giant cellar - all the walls are just dark concrete with no paint :( We took a 4 bed room though there were 2 of us because we thought it would be bigger but we got it wrong. Our room was about 2m wide and had 2 bunkbeds on the right hand wall, a narrow space down the side and a walk in shower (no bathroom). Basically the front wall of your room is all glass, you enter and theres a place to hang your skis and a ski boot dryer, a sink and a private toilet (ie surrounded by opaque walls not glass!). Then you open this door and go into the sleeping bit which is what I described above (this is private, the door and wall are not glass). Theres nowhere to sit in the room, except on your bed (there may have been a small desk, but if theres more than one person forget it)!
The idea is that you don't use your room other than to sleep in, there are seats outside the room in the hall way and there is a communal TV downstairs so I guess this place is OK if you go with a large group. Apparently there was a sauna etc downstairs that was really good.
The food was OK, but the location of the hotel was fantastic, three steps out the door and you are at the cable car which takes you to the top slopes, and in the evening you can ski right to the door of the hotel (if theres enough snow on the lower slopes!). So if you only sleep in your room (and spend no other time in there) then this place will be fine for you!
