Nice location, Small rooms May 11, 2012
Cube hotel is a small boutique hotel in Jalan pudu perpendicular on Jalan Bukit Bintang, one of the busiest streets in Kuala Lumpur.

The hotel quiet and clean. They have free wi-fi for guests and it's very fast.

When i first entered my room (which was on a ground floor) i was a little surprised at how small the room was, there was a bed, small chair next to it and a coffee mug over a small piece of wood which appears to be a desk-like thing.

the room had an LCD right over the bed. and the air-condition is right over the bathroom wall, which was very annoying at times as it would get too cold.

The room had no-windows, to some people that is essential to be able to see the sun in the morning, i wasn't bothered the first couple of days but i must admit it's gotten to me later.

I switched rooms later to an upper floor, the room i got had a window and it was a tad-bit bigger than the other one (well let's just say that the so-called desk was a little far from the bed this time :) )

I got the room for 70 RM (appx US $22) (US $1 = appx 3 Ringgit Malaysian), this rate was the online booking rate, their rates are slightly higher if you don't book online and they're higher during weekends anyways.

You can ask for a kettle if you want to make tea/coffee in your room. And they sold umbrellas and adapters for 5 RM each for people who needed them.

The hotel doesn't offer food/breakfast, so the money spent was for your room only.

It's a nice hotel, i would recommend it if you're stopping in KL for a couple of days, but if you're staying longer than 2 days, i think you might wanna try something else, i definitely will :)

Cube Hotel has a very good location, it is near the shopping area, near Jalan Alor - the street that offers great hawker food and close to the KL Monorail.

Its staff are friendly and ready to help you in any way they can.

** Just a tip thou, you should bring your own adapter. The hotel does not provide one but you can buy from them for 4rm.

This, definitely won't fit into the 'cheapest best' category.

But it is value for money.

It's cheap.

But the location makes up for what it lacks.

Oh and it lacks :

Uncaring staff - do not make any attempt to leave message for anyone through them, it's useless.

Hard mattress - enough said.

Dusty decor - and sometimes they manage to 'forget' upon clean the room even after we ask for it twice.

Eerie bathroom - prepare for major splashes and flying clothes and soapsuds.

Tiny room - seriously. Do not try to pack more than 2 people here.

But then again, who cares for those gritties when you don't spend time in your room?

After those miles you walk (and most probably) toting along your shopping evidence in hand, you just need a room that is central to everything.

Complete with hot shower, and then you'll be ready to hit the streets again early morning tomorrow.

very Nice place to stay... May 12, 2011
its a nice place to stay, many things walking distance. I stayed there for 5 days and recommend it. The rooms are small and no breakfast is included or available at hotel but other things make up for it.

Really vaule for money budget hotel. Dec 23, 2010
I typically do an annual trip up to KL every year, since for one - KL is super near to Singapore and its cheap and two - there is an amazing YEAR END SALE going on (up to 70% at some malls so really worth the trip). Anyways, normally I will stay at a more comfortable hotel, which means pricier? So why not save a little on hotel and spurge it in other areas right? So this time round, my brother and I decided to try out at this newly opened budget hotel called Hotel Cube.

Hotel Cube, located at Bukit Bintang, is conveniently located within the golden triangle (essentially the heart of KL). It is only 5 minutes walk from the Berjaya time square where most coaches drop off their passengers. We decided on Hotel Cube I chanced upon a good deal on It is only S$100 (about US$75) for two nights, pretty good deal I would say. Do check out for some good deals. Okay back to this, Hotel Cube like another budget hotel is definitely smaller in terms of room size. As the name suggest, the room is really just a cube, which is somewhat similar to the Japanese Cube room concept. It is a square room with 2 singles beds. Just next to the beds is a small bathroom, which is really not too bad just to shower and clean up. In addition the room has air conditioning system. On top of that, there is a 17’ TV with a few cable channels and free Wi-Fi for hotel users. In my opinion, the best part of the hotel is the service. Nothing will round off a trip on a good note unless you experience good service. The staffs at the front desk are really polite, efficient and helpful. The check in was done in only 10mins. The staff even showed us to our room, which is really nice. They also gave us good directions and recommendation to good food around our area.

In terms of location wise, as mentioned earlier, Hotel Cube is located at the heart of KL. It is really close to some of the major malls and shopping streets. Malls like Pavilion, lot 10, Sungei Wang are only 5 – 15mins walk away. The rail station is similarly really close. Along the entire street of Bukit Bintang is lots of food places and bars, so essentially plenty of food. There is also a few 24 hours convenience shop near our hotel. In essence, everything is within reach.

Pros aside, there are certain down points to be brought up. There are several constructions going on around the area, so it is really noisy throughout the day. It is really impossible to rest in the mid day in the hotel. Secondly, the room is really small; there is virtually no moving space if you bring a really large luggage? Other than these, this hotel is pretty much like other budget places you will find.

Hotel Cube is a place you will probably stay in if you are looking for a wallet friendly place to crash and clean up. It is much more worth it to stay here if you are traveling in pairs than to stay in hostel as you will have your personal space. Given the great location, super friendly staff and most importantly really good price Hotel Cube will be the place you want to be staying on a short budget trip.
