Too much traffic, too many people, crowded beaches! Not HERE!!!!!!
The cruz Inn, in Darado (20 minuets from downtown San Juan )is a nice break from the standard tourist fare. Located in the small town of Darado, about 20 min from San Juan along the north coast, heading west. The Cruz Inn offers clean sparce rooms with twin beds, TV, Microwave, refridgerator, and air-conditioning. The owner: Carlos Cruz, is friendly, and a great Host. The Cruz Inn is located just west of what use to be the (Large) Embassy Suites (resort), and directly across the street from a nice sheltered beach portion of Nolos Morales Park. This is not just any beach, Puerto Rico, has many good State Beaches or Parks. Nolos Morales beach and Park is one of the many jewels in Puerto Rico. Uncommonly quiet during the week, with live music from several outside venues, including the Cruz Inn on the weekends.
Though the all rooms are on the second floor, and afford little in the way of view. It is more than made up by shaded verandah overlooking the beach directly across the street. the beach is sheltered by a break-water, and is sutiable for small children and families. The street in front of the Inn has average to low traffic flow, and is well partolled with about a 15mph limit in the area. Nice community living room and kitchen area, guest are expected to clean up after their self.
If I don't have pictures up yet, just hang on! This is a Local beach, with not a lot of tourist traffic. Again you have about 0.5 miles of park beach, and an additional 0.5+ miles of beach, backed by a large Golf Course. This is a place where you can stop and talk to most anyone.
