Crow Agency Vacation Guide
Crow Agency in Montana is close to the Little Bighorn Battlefield, site of Custer's Last Stand. Just off the highway, amongst rolling hills and not too many trees, there are the grave markers of the 200 or so cavalrymen under Custer's command who perished here. Each white stone is placed where the soldier it represents fell, and was originally buried. The bodies were later dug up and re-buried in a common grave at the top of the hill, and a large marker is there as a memorial. Where Custer fell is marked by the only black stone- his remains were removed and taken to West Point.
