A great insight into Irish sports Dec 18, 2010
For this with a good knowledge of Gaelic sports, the Croke Park museum serves a simple purpose: it explores the history of the sports, and gives a glance at some of their greatest players. For those who don't understand, though (most of us), this is a chance to get an insight into how both Gaelic football and hurling work.

You get the chance to try both sports in some specially designed games, but the main draw is in the explanation of the history of the stadium itself, and the sports down through the years. It's not a big place, but it does do this effectively, with some well-informed staff and good presentations ready to answers your (less than informed, in my case) questions. Worth a trip for a different glance at irish culture, anyway.
