Croatian National Theatre has had its permanent home here since 1895 in this beautiful neo- gothic building, designed by two well known Austrian architects Ferdinand Fellner and Herman Helmer (the pair designed about 40 other theatre buildings in Europe). Even locals admire it when they pass by.

The train leaves the station at 6 am so we were up by 4:30am. It’s going to be a long day. And yes, it’s overcast and chilly again. All this should change in Croatia. We had a first class reserved compartment to…… Another train, another country - on to Croatia and being pampered |
