I have smelled the Jesus armpit and it smells like piss… Jul 20, 2016
One of the “attractions” or places of interest in Cochabamba is the LARGEST Jesus statue in the world… Yes it is larger than the statue in Rio and way cheaper to visit. You can get there by going with the cable car, walking the steps or going up with a cab. Cable car is fairly cheap, and you can get one way or two way ticket. Walking the steps is not for you, trust me. There is simply too many steps and if you really want to walk them, do it on the way down. Cabs are also affordable and they take you all the way up. You can go into the statue and that is the coolest part of the tip. There are small windows and holes all over the statue so you have light and you can see outside. Steps up are pretty secure but watch you head. A bit of the issue is that people piss inside the statue and it stinks really badly. It is definitely cool thing to do.

Jesus H Christ! Jul 22, 2008
If you like really big statues of Jesus on top of giant hills, Cristo de la Concordia in Cochabamba should be on the top of your list of places to visit. If you’re not obsessed with huge statues of Jesus, it is also recommended because it has a beautiful view of Cochabamba and the immediate valley and mountains.

Just like the morality of Christianity you have two paths to get to the top of the mountain to view Jesus:

1. Walk up steps for about a half hour, and is free.

2. Pay .50 USD to take a cable car to the top.

One thing to remember is that Cochabamba has an altitude of 1500 m, so walking up the steps may make you tired quickly.

Overall the statue is a pretty amazing site once you get close to it. Actually it is a little bit larger than the statue of Jesus in rio de janerio. However the real reason to climb to the top of the mountain and see Jesus is to see the view, in fact you could say it is heavenly. Also you have to get some ice-cream from the merchants, smoke some cigarettes, and drink a few beers, then you can walk down, or take the cable car back.

Ironic Fact*: Many tourists walking up to see the statue of Jesus are robbed by thugs with knives.
