Crimpert Salm

The Crimpert Salm is a nice small and very cosy French- style café restaurant in the centre of Dordrecht, where they serve snacks and light meals during the day and dinner in the evening.
The name "Crimpert Salm” is derived from a centuries-old use to the salmon.
This restaurant is one of the eight hundred ancient monuments of Dordrecht, located in the Visstraat (Fish Street) this street also refers to those activities.

The Grand Café-Restaurant is actually three buildings.
A nineteenth century building, a medieval building that bears the name Sturgeon and the actual Crimpert Salm, which dates from 1608.
The Crimpert Salm was originally the guildhall of the Dordtse salmon fishermen.
In the past salmon was for the less fortunate, but in this restaurant you can taste that it's now not the case anymore.
