Creperie Bretonne Anaick Barcelona Reviews
Tasty Crepes in Barcelona Jan 25, 2009
We didn't feel like cooking today and my daughter felt like eating a crepe, so we all headed for this place not far from home.
Anaick Creperie Bretonne is a good place for a quick lunch or dinner (or just a snack anytime) - located just below Frank Gehry's landmark fish sculpture in the same complex as the Hotel de les Arts and the Casino, they have a large variety of both sweet and savory crepes following traditional Breton recipes and salads.
The average price for a crepe is around 7 Euros. They are generous in size and one is sufficient for a meal. While you wait for your crepe you can make use of the crayons and large sheets of white paper on the tables and let loose the artist inside you. If you like cider, I also recommend a cup of their cider with your crepe. I especially recommend the croque bretonne - ham, cheese and egg - and the "Fromagere" with different cheeses.
The surroundings are interesting! Everything is served from the kitchen located inside an old double decker bus placed inside the restaurant. The walls are decorated with drawings made by customers and old posters.
Be forewarned that when busy the service isn't too great, it can get unpleasantly loud and the waiters aren't too friendly. Today was one of those days: the service was pretty slow and we didn't even manage to eke a "bon dia" out of the waitres...
But, the crepes are good and if you manage to get there when it isn't completely swamped with people, I recommend it.
