Stunning Oct 22, 2011
Though Trieste is known for its historic cafes, with their art nouveau style, wooden panelling and James Joyce atmosphere, I think cafe is a very strong and worthy contender for modern Trieste. It is located of piazza Goldoni and not far from the city centre. Though it's been around since the 1950s, it has a very hip feel to it. Although coffee is available here, I did see some alcohol on the shelves so the place is capable of attracting a wider variety of customers. I came here for the pastries though; excellent selection, average expense and superb quality. They are more rich than you imagine, so don't be fooled that the normal sized pastry is something that you'll be able to manage easily! Well worth coming to if you are in Trieste.
