Best Coffee in Toronto May 22, 2011
By the end of summer 2011, there will be four Crema Coffee locations in Toronto. The original (and in my opinion, best) location is in the Junction neighbourhood of Toronto, a great up and coming area in Toronto.

The Junction location of Crema is well-sized for an independent cafe with tons of natural light streaming in from large windows. There is ample indoor seating as well as a great patio.

The staff are friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and quite attractive (an irrelevant but interesting tip). The owner of the cafe, Geoff, ensures that the staff are trained thoroughly on the espresso machine, from dialing in the espresso grinders to pulling and pouring shots, to steaming all sorts of milk. Every cup is poured with artwork on the top (check the website's gallery for an idea).

The espresso at Crema always tastes amazing. The drip coffee is exceptional. Crema only offers one size in macchiatos, cappucinos, and lattes because they believe that they have the ratios of milk to espresso perfect. I, along with hordes of satisfied customers, believe they do as well.

Customer satisfaction is incredibly high, and Crema supposedly has the best shot of espresso outside of Europe. Perhaps that praise is a tad high, though every single coffee they serve is perfect. They are best known for cappucinos.

While coffee is obviously the main attraction at Crema, they bring in baked goods from local bakeries which are great as well. They carry paninis and a breakfast sandwich as a more substantial menu, and an assortment of scones, muffins, cookies, squares, etc. that have never disappointed.

Overall, Crema's staff are great people and aren't hidden behind a customer-server barrier. They are awesome people who make awesome coffee and really do have a passion for their art. If you are in Toronto, you NEED a cup of Crema coffee.

The three other locations are listed on their website, though I do recommend the trip to the Junction for the original experience.
