Crazy Girls vs. Crazy Horse Las Vegas Reviews

Topless reviews are, in my opinion, on the Las Vegas "must see" list. However, choosing the one suited for your sensibilities is a matter of personal choice and not public advertisement.

Crazy Girls just celebrated its 20th year at the Riviera Hotel and Casino. I believe the cabaret has gained notoriety due to its provocative and sometimes sinful stripclub parades. There is pole dancing, solo stripteases with girls erotically draped over revolving tables or a body pillow in the shape of a fallus.

These clasically trained dancers are virtually nude in most scenes, save for the small strips of cloth covering their privies. There are cowgirls, biker babes, women popping out of life size compacts, and an edgy girl on girl scene which leans more towards pornography than art...

The showroom is intimate, much like the Crazy Horse at the MGM. This is where the comparison ends.

If you insist on seeing this edgy and borderline pornographic cabaret, I would not recommend sitting in the front row. I moved from the center to the front row at the begin of the show, dangerously close to kicking legs and bouncing breasts. General seats are $34.95, which can sometimes be purchased for half of that at one of the Las Vegas half price ticket vendors, the day of the show. VIP seating, infront of the stage or in one of the booths, costs an extra $26 per ticket.

Basically, I got two tickets from the half price vendor for a total of $84, including service charges and taxes. I saved about $40. Seating here is assigned by a maitre d, only a generous tip will get you something you want. The crazy horse at MGM is just as intimate and similarly arranged, but you have the seat selection when you purchase your tickets.

Difference between being in front row at either show:

when you sit up close at the crazy girls, you see surgical scars from implants, tattoos, and you notice many flaws due to the women not wearing hose. the seats are also positioned much too close to the stage, so that you often have to tilt your head back to see whats happening. the acts in which the girls dance together would be much more appreciated if you saw the big picture from a distance.

crazy horse girls at the mgm are flawless and uniform, and are exciting to watch up close. their sets and stage are set up in such a way that you don't feel as though you are invading their space.

Cheesiest thing about Crazy Girls:

their infernal lip syncing. some of the girls do it with much fervor, some dont do it at all, some intermittantly and not in sync. there is no continuity.

Most disappointing thing about Crazy Girls:

in contrast to MGM's Crazy Horse, I don't find myself admiring any of these women's bodies as beautiful works of art. Hearing men in the audience cat calling is something you would only hear at this show, or a strip club.

Beverage service:

non existant at crazy girls. you have to walk out of the theater to the bar.

the crazy horse at mgm serves up wonderfully seductive cocktails to your table, souvenir glass optional.

Crazy Girls is known around town for its ads seen on the back of buses and cabs. A chorus line of derrieres and bad wigs, but the real thing is less than beautiful. Many of the wigs worn in the production have outstayed their welcome, the costumes look cheap, and the dancing is reminiscent of a high school talent show.

Worst two ideas the prodcution manager of this show had:

The host: horrible, tasteless, and insulting humor. and, he talked so fast we could hardly understand the punchlines.

The half time entertainment: a sauced up juggler that got too carried away with the ring toss and just couldn't let go of his failure to catch the rings around his neck.

If you are looking for a strip club without the lap dance, or are simply curious about what makes Las Vegas the city of sin, this is the show for you. do not expect elaborate staging, lighting, or cinematic effects. just lots and lots of skin!

For something truly memorable, beautiful, tasteful, and artistic, the Crazy Horse Show at the MGM comes highly recommended.
